Make-Up Manifesto

To start off, I should probably introduce myself briefly. I am an early 30-something woman, living in between countries, with a new-found love of cosmetics, especially lipstick.

So the plan with this blog is to offer reviews and swatches of different products, not just on my arm, but also on the target part of my face (i.e. lip-swatches for lipsticks, pictures of mascaras and/or eyeliners on the eyes, etc.). When I am looking for various products, generally I find it more helpful to see the products applied to the target area, rather than just on the arm. Therefore, this is one of my motivators for starting this blog, as it can then help others to make informed decisions about their cosmetics purchases.

Another important component will be to feature brands in particular that steer clear of animal testing, since I do not like the idea of supporting those that continue to test on animals, rather than using products that have already been deemed to be safe. That being said, I realize that the term "cruelty-free" is rather controversial and unstable, as companies may be determined to be cruelty-free at one point in time, and due to various decisions, such as opening up sales in countries that require animal testing, like China, said companies may cease to be cruelty-free at a later date. To that end, I am also aware that some companies that do not test on animals are owned by or purchased by larger companies that do. The smaller companies are still elegible for showcasing in my posts, but I will make note that they are owned by companies that are not cruelty-free, as the case may be.

I am open for feedback and requests, as well as constructive criticism, regarding any and all of my posts. However, should anyone choose to express him/herself in a disrespectful manner, either directed at me or at other commenters, such disrespectful comments will be deleted, and the person in question may be blocked from future posts.
